A wise man once said,

“First is the worst, second is the best, third is the one with the hairy chest.”

What that means I’m not sure but with 3 silvers and 3 bronzes at the BADC awards over the weekend, I’m feeling pretty happy with the result and planning to wear lots of loud shirts and gold chains!

The awards were given for both my personal and commissioned work.

Pump it up

When the guys from Isuzu wanted a full suite of images to launch their pumped up D-MAX worldwide, they naturally turned to Erik. He created various different spec levels for use in different markets, encompassing key elements of fuel economy, performance, offroad ability and safety. And sure, the shoot took in beautiful locations in South East Queensland, Stockton Beach and Queenstown, New Zealand, but it wasn’t THAT great (actually, yeah it was….).

Utes are us

EWP was recently commisioned to update imagery for Isuzu’s DMAX worldwide. So the crew was on the road again to Stockton beach and all places in between. We battled inclement weather (OMG enough with the rain already), freeezing sand, recalcitrant GPS units and a leagues club buffet to produce some striking images.  With the exception of the buffet (some scars are too deep to heal) we overcame all the hurdles and once again the team worked like clockwork.

Kids and Animals

By | advertising | No Comments

You know what they say “never work with kids and Animals.” Well how do you get a performance out of a fish? Simple really you just need Art Dept (Robbie Porter ), a bunch of fishing line, some C-Stands, an art director (Sarah Chernisov), a retoucher (Derek Leong ) and your all set.

This was a challenging brief set by the guys at Sapient Nitro. We needed to capture fish having the Be-jesus frightened out of them by the deals that BCF are doing on fishing gear. Recalcitrant, slippery and smelly…..? Hmm been a while since I’ve had talent this challenging . Some had to be returned to their trailer (esky) while Robbie rangled their mates into the right poses. Dek weaved his magic in post and a subtle use of type meant the whole piece came together beautifully. Thanks everybody!
